Negative self-talk 
is any inner dialogue you have with yourself that may be limiting your ability to believe in yourself and your own abilities, and to reach your potential. It is any thought that diminishes your ability to make positive changes in your life or your confidence in yourself .

When you recognize your negative self talk, don't let it go unchallenged:

  • Challenge your inner voice.
  • Test your negative self talk against reality. 
  • Consider alternative options
  • Put things in perspective.
  • Use goal-directed thinking.

What is the cause of negative self talk?
A common cold, exhaustion, stress, hunger, sleep deprivation, even allergies can make you depressed, which leads to negative thoughts. In many cases, depression can be caused by negative thinking, itself. To combat negative thinking, it is important to understand it.
Now you get a fair idea that ,it may be physical but it is going to affect your thoughts, feelings, emotions and then behaviours.

How to stop the negative self talk?
These  are some ways to help halt negative thoughts and self-talk:
  • Take a deep Breathe. 
  • Acknowledge It.
  • Consider The Cause..
  • Stop Expecting Perfection.
  • Surround Yourself With Positivity.
  • Build A Routine.
  • Make A Conscious Choice To Silence Those Thoughts.
  • Live more in the moment. 
  • Stop Thinking about so much about the past or the future is what we get anxious about. 
  • Practise positive affirmation.
  • Tell yourself some good things.
  • Believe in the power of positive thinking.
  • Don't dwell.
  • Focus on the positive.
  • Get moving.
  • Face the fear.
  • Try new things.
